Facade Design Sewage Treatment Plant Würzburg

Using clean and smooth river stones as inspiration, the two Würzburger wastewater tanks are wrapped in layered membrane forms which result in two similar yet different sculptures. The uniqueness of the objects, their smooth, bright aesthetic symbolise the attributes with which the Würzburg Wastewater Treatment Plant will be associated with: precision, efficiency, technology. The adjacent, in order to avoid a clash between the façades, have received a rear-ventilated curtain wall façade of coarse-meshed expanded metal, which with exception of entrances, form a fully closed wall surface, behind which windows are hidden.
