Volksbank Area Freiburg

The new development of the Volksbank area in Freiburg offers the opportunity to redefine the city entrance at the main station. The development takes up the block edges of the city layout and forms a closed courtyard figure. The building volume integrates itself into the existing urban structure through differentiated storeys. The visual relationship between the city center and the station tower is preserved and the high point marks the entrance to the city on Bismarckallee by breaking up the deliberately continuous building line.
