Olympic swimming pool in Lille
At the end of 2018 in a multi-phase general contractor procedure, the jury voted in favour of commissioning the Rabot Dutilleul Construction (main contractor) / Auer Weber team to realise the "Lille Piscine Olympique Métropolitaine".
The new Olympic swimming pool, designed by Auer Weber together with its French partner office Otton Sanchez, includes four indoor and two outdoor pools, a spacious wellness area, a 42-m-deep diving channel and a restaurant. With the range of sporting activities it offers, it meets the requirements of top-level sport and at the same time the needs of a large community association, the "Métropole Européenne de Lille".
The aim of the project is to embed itself in the city and connect the site, whose potential it exploits, to the urban fabric of Lille. Special attention has been paid to sustainability and the preservation and development of the biodiversity.
