1st Prize in Housing Competition for the Branntwein Site in Nuremberg

The St Jobst GmbH Cooperative for Urban Housing is planning the redevelopment of the so-called “Branntwein Site” in Nuremberg primarily with dwellings. In a competition covering a roughly 12,500 m² area of the site, solutions were to be found for cost-effective and qualitative multistorey housing together with a basement garage.

The competition for the implementation of the scheme had as its goal the planning of a tower block with dwellings, commercial facilities and a daycare centre for children. The ideas competition was concerned with the ongoing development of the urban housing fabric as well as the creation of a model dwelling block.
