DER SPIEGEL Moves into the John F. Kennedy House

The John F. Kennedy House on Washingtonplatz was completed in 2015 to the designs of our office. With around 2,000 square metres of office and restaurant space, the new tenancy complements an ensemble developed by CA Immo in Berlin’s Europacity, which is already fully and long-term leased. The location, directly adjacent to the main railway station and the Spreebogen, offers an exceptional setting at the intersection of city and government district.

The building forms one of the four urban components of the Lehrter Stadtquartier. Façades of light natural stone alternate with recessed glass surfaces, giving the volume depth and structure. Generous glazing opens onto a green inner courtyard, bringing daylight deep into the building and creating a sense of transparency. Through its vertical articulation, in which every two storeys are grouped together, a clear rhythm emerges that reinforces the architectural unity of the quarter.

We are delighted that, with the arrival of DER SPIEGEL, the building will gain a distinctive new tenant at one of Berlin’s most exciting locations — between the government district and the main station.
