Hugo Häring Prize 2023
The jury's statement: The new cafeteria is located underground at the intersection of two pathways on the educational campus, but at the same time forms a pleasant landscape sculpture in the built surroundings on the large square lined with educational buildings. Like an eruption of clods of earth, the entrance and exposures open up and reveal a variety of views into and out of the dining room, which surprisingly is flooded with daylight. The organically shaped and multi-curved bulges form a new centre above ground offering high amenity quality and unique indoor and outdoor experiences.
