New university campus for the HSPV NRW in Herne
We are very much looking forward to building the new University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV) in Herne together with Hochtief and Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten + Stadtplaner.
The new site of the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV) in the newly developed Funkenberg Quarter in Herne will accommodate 5,000 students on 32,000 square metres. Last Monday, the plans were presented at a press conference.
"This is an important day in the history of Herne," said Mayor Dr. Frank Dudda, explaining: "As of today, Herne will be added to the list of German university towns and cities." The first students are expected to enrol at the university in Herne in the winter semester of 2027. "A state-of-the-art campus will be built that combines teaching and administration," explains Martin Bornträger, president of the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The new university campus consists of three buildings, all accessible via a common plaza, which is the focal point of the campus and is intended to contribute to a culture of togetherness. The project encompasses the construction of the lecture halls, administration building, dining hall, library, multi-purpose rooms and 1,200 parking spaces on the university campus.
