New village center in Bad Wiessee – progress moving at a steady pace
Since the groundbreaking two years ago, the development of Bad Wiessee’s new town center has been advancing rapidly. On the former Ritter site, located between Münchner Straße and Ludwig-Thoma-Straße, the six planned buildings have now become clearly visible. Following the demolition of existing structures and excavation work in summer 2023, approximately 100,000 m³ of earth was moved. By November 2024, the buildings had reached structural completion, and interior construction is now in full swing.
The development will include around 40 rental apartments for local residents, 24 holiday apartments, a medical center, several dining options, and approximately 3,500 m² of retail space for both large-scale stores and smaller commercial units. A basement garage with 100 parking spaces, along with additional surface-level customer parking, will ensure excellent accessibility.
The new village square—the heart of the complex—will become a vibrant, representative space thanks to its identity-shaping design, and will be functionally framed by the surrounding buildings.
The architecture reflects a design approach rooted in local identity. With appropriately scaled building volumes, mineral base zones, and finely articulated timber elements, the project achieves a harmonious overall appearance that blends seamlessly into the existing village structure.
Completion is scheduled for early 2026—and even now, it’s clear: the new town center is set to become a lively and multifaceted hub of Bad Wiessee.
