Olympiapark and Sports Facilities with Fritz Auer
The seventh Architecture Week (A7) is entitled STADT:LEBEN (CITY:LIFE) and focuses on the public spaces that surround us in cities. "Let's get talking! Let's be open, curious and critical! Let's explore the city!" proclaim the organisers, inviting those who are interested to participate in the programme of events. For one week from 25.6-1.7, urban space with its manifold aspects will be illuminated, explored, discussed and presented anew, with focal points that change daily.
On Sunday, June 26, the topic of the day STADT:PERSPEKTIVEN (CITY:PERSPECTIVES)will be Olympiapark. During the day, various walks with renowned architects will take place to the sports facilities, through the Olympic Village, the refectory, the Student Village, etc. During the "Olympiapark and Sports Facilities" tour (start: 3 pm and 4.30 pm at the North-East Entrance of the Olympic Stadium), Prof. Fritz Auer, former founding member and partner in the office of Behnisch und Partner, will offer personal insights into and background information on the development of the site.
In the evening, a panel discussion on the topic of "Monument and Vision – the Olympic Village" will take place in the A7 central meeting point at Isartorplatz 1, starting at 7 pm.
