Topping-out ceremony for Campus Founders
On Thursday 14 December, we celebrated the progress of the new Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre on the Bildungscampus in Heilbronn together with the Dieter Schwarz Foundation, the planners and Mayor Harry Mergel.
The new Campus Founders building will be a home for all players in the region's dynamic start-up scene as well as for international start-ups.
The eight-storey new building with co-working spaces and private offices, workshop and meeting rooms, a Media MakerSpace, event spaces and a community members' lounge as well as a restaurant is scheduled to be ready for occupancy in 2025. It will be the central place for co-innovation and entrepreneurship in the Heilbronn ecosystem, with space for networking, collaboration and open innovation.
The distinctive architecture, which stands for openness, transparency and space for interaction, also reflects the values of the future start-up home. Due to its special steel skeleton construction with staggered levels, it deliberately sets itself apart from the other buildings on the Bildungscampus in its architectural and design language and is thus another highlight in the Heilbronn city skyline.
In 2013, Auer Weber developed the urban master plan for the educational campus and completed a total of nine buildings in various construction stages.
"Start-ups are of outstanding importance for the development of new and disruptive business areas as well as for mastering the transformation process in our region," says Reinhold Geilsdörfer, Managing Director of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. "The Campus Founders' new home will be a key component in driving forward innovation in our ecosystem and perfectly complements our development of the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (Ipai) as well as our research and teaching activities in the field of digital technologies."
