Center for Philology and Digitality of the University of Würzburg officially inaugurated

On 26 October 2023, the Center for Philology and Digitality (ZPD) was officially inaugurated. The new research center combines the two humanities of digital humanities and computer science and offers space for interdisciplinary cooperation between the two institutes. In the new building, for example, research in philology, the study of language and literature, will be supplemented with new digital tools.

"The special challenge for the Center for Philology and Digitality lies in the word 'and'; in the connection of two worlds with different scientific cultures. This is precisely what is enabled here." Professor Ulrich Konrad, Chairman of the ZPD.

Despite difficult conditions during the construction period due to the COVID and Ukraine crises, the construction project was completed on time and within budget.
