Founding Members

Fritz Auer

Prof. Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA M. Arch., born 1933 in Tübingen, studied at the TH Stuttgart as well as at Cranbrook Academy of Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, USA. He graduated in 1962 in Stuttgart. He worked for Behnisch und Lambart in Stuttgart until 1965 when he became a partner of Behnisch & Partner. In 1980 Auer and Weber left the partnership to found their own practice. Fritz Auer was professor of Building Construction and Design at the FH Munich from 1985 to 1992 and professor of Design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design from 1993 to 2001. He has been a member of the Academy of the Arts in Berlin since 1993.

Carlo Weber †

Prof. Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA, born 1934 in Saarbrücken, studied at the TH Stuttgart and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He graduated in 1961 in Stuttgart. He worked for Behnisch und Lambart in Stuttgart between 1960 and 1965 and he became a partner of Behnisch & Partner in 1966. In 1980 Auer and Weber founded their own practice. Carlo Weber was a lecturer at the University of Stuttgart from 1980 to 1990 and he was professor for Building Theory and Design at the TU Dresden from 1992 to 1999. He had been a member of the Academy of the Arts in Saxony since 1996.

Managing Partners

Moritz Auer

Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA, born 1964 in Stuttgart, initially studied Communication Design at the Folkwang School in Essen and later studied Architecture at the TU Berlin until his graduation in 1996. He then joined the Auer Weber office in Munich. He has been an associate since 2001 and a managing partner since 2006.

Philipp Auer

Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA, born 1967 in Stuttgart, initially studied at the University of Stuttgart and later at the TH Darmstadt where he graduated in 1995. He worked for David Chipperfield in London from 1995 to 1997 and later for Auer Weber in Munich. He has been an associate since 2001 and a managing partner since 2009.

Jörn Scholz

Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA, born 1967 in Hameln, studied at the University of Stuttgart where he graduated in 1995. He worked for Prof. Rainer Scholl and at the Klein Breucha practice in Stuttgart between 1992 and 1996. In 1996 he joined Auer Weber. He has been an associate since 2002 and a managing partner since 2006. He has lectured Building Theory and Design at the Institute for Dwelling and Design at the University of Stuttgart from 1998 to 2008.

Achim Söding

Dipl. Ing. Architect BDA, born 1961 in Hannover, studied at the University of Stuttgart and at the TU Vienna, where he also worked at the atelier of Prof. Anton Schweighofer. He joined Auer Weber in Stuttgart after graduating in Hannover in 1988. He has been an associate since 2001 and a managing partner since 2006. He lectured at the FH Magdeburg from 2001 to 2003. He has been a member of the OAI, Luxembourg since 2007.

Stephan Suxdorf

Dipl. Ing. (FH) Architect BDA, born 1966 in Hamburg, studied at the FH Constance, where he graduated in 1992. He worked for Steidle & Partner and for Bauer Kurz Stockburger in Munich until 1997 after which he joined Auer Weber. He has been an associate since 2001 and a managing partner since 2006. He lectured at the FH Potsdam in 1994.

Associates

Martin Klemp

Dipl. Ing. Architect, born 1966 in Hildesheim, he initially completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. He then studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Stuttgart and the IIT in Chicago. After his graduation in 1996, he worked for Schürmann + Schürmann in Stuttgart until 2000. He has been working at Auer Weber in Munich since 2000 and has been an associate since 2003.

Jörg Müller

Dipl. Ing. Architect, born 1954 in Cologne, studied at the TH Darmstadt and at the ETH Zürich. After graduating in Darmstadt in 1982 he opened his own practice. He worked for Behnisch & Partner, Auer Weber and Klein Breucha in Stuttgart between 1985 and 1997. He has been working at Auer Weber since 1997 and has been an associate since 2001.

Stefan Niese

Prof. Dipl. Ing. Architekt, geboren 1969 in Nürnberg, studierte an der Technischen Universität Kaiserslautern und war 1994-95 Mitglied der Meisterklasse Wolf D. Prix an der Hochschule für angewandte Kunst in Wien. Nach dem Diplom 1997 in Kaiserslautern arbeitete er im Büro Auer Weber in München und wurde 2002 Assoziierter. Seit 2013 lehrt er als Professor die Fächer Plastisches Gestalten und Entwerfen an der Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt und ist für das Büro weiterhin beratend tätig.

Till Richter

Dipl. Ing. Architect, born 1969 in Reutlingen, studied Architecture at the TH Darmstadt and the Università degli Studi di Firenze. After graduating in Darmstadt in 1997 he worked for Funk & Schröder Architekten. He joined Auer Weber in 2001 and has been an associate since 2012.

Christof Teige

Dipl. Ing. Architect, born 1963 in Wuerzburg, studied at the TU Kaiserslautern and the TH Darmstadt, where he graduated in 1992. In 1992 he worked for Joachim Schürmann in Cologne. That same year he joined Auer Weber in Stuttgart and he has been an associate since 2001. He has been a lecturer at the Institute for Dwelling and Design at the University of Stuttgart since 2008.

Felix Wiemken

Dipl. Ing. Architect, born 1970 in Stuttgart, studied at the University of Stuttgart and at the Ecole d’architecture Paris-la-Seine. After his graduation in 1998 in Stuttgart, he worked for Auer Weber and has been an associate since 2010.
