Restructuring of Münchner Stadtmuseum

The most striking characteristic in the renovation concept for the museum is the transparent roof for the inner courtyard of the part called Gsaengertrakt, in this way turning it into a museum hall which can be used all day and independent of the weather. In this hall, a white cube is positioned off the court façades, being connected by bridges in some places to the surrounding exhibition levels. The orthogonal body of the cube, which will generally host temporary exhibitions, forms smaller courts of different dimensions and characterictics all around it.
