Redevelopment Savings and Loan Bank, Waiblingen
The refurbishment of the tower built in the 1960's strengthens the location of the savings and loan bank in the city center of Waiblingen. The structure consists of ceiling slabs spanning from the load-bearing core. The grid façade with individual windows and parapets is replaced by floor-to-ceiling glazing with horizontal bands on ceiling level. The existing technical control center on the top floor is incorporated into the volume of the house. Printed-on glass elements alternate with transparent ones. On each floor, walls are removed so that the 260 m² plans can be redesigned with contemporary, mainly open office layouts.
