Revitalization of Secondary School, Waiblingen
Salier-Gymnasium is part of the school center ”Korber Höhe” in Waiblingen and was built in 1967–1968 to the plans of the studio Behnisch & Partner. Following the topography, class rooms are located on six different levels, stacked along a about 70 meters long atrium; specializing classes are located in a separate unit on ground level. The aim of the revitalization is to obtain a technical sustainable enhancement while at the same time preserving the existing spatial qualities. Analyzing thoroughly what was there was the basis for a multitude of decisions how to upgrade the building in order to become a place of education which is fit to face the future.
