In the competition for the "New Building of the Heinrich-Kromer School with Double Sports Hall" in Frankfurt am Main, we—together with the landscape architects HDK Dutt & Kist from Saarbrücken—achieved a successful 3rd prize among 20 participating offices. The task was to design a five-stream primary school with grade-level clusters and a double sports hall. The ARD program “alpha Uni” aims to provide university graduates with guidance in choosing a career and authentic insights into studying and working. From University to Architecture Firm — the ARD format “alpha Uni” offers honest and direct perspectives from those who know best: students and young professionals. The episode “Starting a Job in Architecture” has now been released as part of this series. Our colleague Assunta was followed for two days during her work in our office and on the construction site, sharing her experiences and being interviewed about her job. Assunta studied architecture in Graz and Munich and has been working in our office since 2023. Her current project is the conversion and new construction of the Helen Keller Secondary School in Munich. The project has been ongoing for five years, with construction underway for two. Assunta is responsible for approving the plans for the new south façade of the existing building before construction can begin — an exciting milestone, as this is her first time doing so! On June 28 and 29, 2025 , 197 outstanding projects across Bavaria will open their doors — offering visitors a glimpse into innovative and architecturally ambitious spaces in both public and private settings. The two-day event is organized by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects and takes place as part of the nationwide Day of Architecture . We’re excited to be part of it again this year! For many years, we have been working with our planning partners on the construction of the new reception building for Munich Central Station and the Starnberg Wing Station — a major infrastructure project. On April 1, 2025, our project celebrated a special milestone: together with Herbert Reul (pictured), Interior Minister of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and many other prominent guests, the foundation stone for the new central campus of the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV) was laid. We are pleased that our design is taking shape and that the project is receiving such positive response. By 2027, a modern campus for around 4,500 students will be built in the FunkenbergQuartier — including lecture halls, a cafeteria, a library, administrative buildings, and multipurpose rooms. The centerpiece of the new campus is a central plaza designed to foster exchange and community. Sustainability is also a key focus of the project, which aims to achieve DGNB Gold certification through energy-efficient solutions. “As a reliable partner for public construction projects, we are setting new standards in university infrastructure with this project,” said Sandra Irina Arendt, Head of Social Infrastructure Europe at Hochtief PPP Solutions. “The new central campus in Herne will be a forward-looking, sustainable building complex that offers optimal learning and working conditions for students, faculty, and staff. Together with HSPV NRW, we are contributing our expertise to successfully realize this flagship project.” After construction is completed, Hochtief PPP Solutions will operate the building complex for 25 years. We wish Hochtief PPP Solutions every success with the ongoing construction progress, look forward to the results, and thank them for the good collaboration. Our design for the new Seegarten hotel ensemble directly on Bad Wiessee's lakeside promenade, which is being developed by project developer Rock Capital Group, was unanimously approved by the municipal council. After the development plan for the Seegarten site had already been approved by the municipal council in mid-2024, the public was now involved in the process. This positive decision marks another milestone. The Münchner Merkur already reported on this. We are delighted with the positive response and look forward to the further development of the plans. Congatulations to our competition team for winning 2nd prize in the urban development and landscape planning realization competition for the development of the new Kreuzlinger Feld urban quarter in Germering. Together with ver.de Landschaftsarchitekten Stadtplaner, our team was able to impress with its design. A total of three 2nd prizes were awarded and the winners were asked to revise their designs. A 1st prize could not yet be awarded and will only be decided among the runners-up after the revision phase. Many thanks to ver.de Landschaftsarchitekten Stadtplaner for the successful collaboration!
